Game 3D Generalist Artist (Unreal Engine)

Responsibilities

Asset Creation: Execute the full-cycle creation of 3D assets, including high-poly sculpting, retopology, UV mapping, and PBR texturing for characters, weapons, and key props.

Unreal Integration: Integrate art assets into Unreal Engine 5, managing materials, LOD settings, and skeletal mesh configurations to meet performance benchmarks.

Rendering Optimization: Collaborate with the technical team to leverage Lumen and Nanite for visual optimization, ensuring all assets align with modern rendering standards.

Art Consistency: Maintain consistency in art style, ensuring all assets fit the game's atmosphere and mechanical design logic.

Vendor Management: Oversee 3D asset outsourcing and vendor management, including creating detailed art briefs, conducting quality control (QC) reviews, and ensuring timely delivery of outsourced content.

Tech Art: Proactively resolve technical art challenges, such as managing shader complexity, texture budgets, and troubleshooting mesh artifacts.

AI Pipeline: Implement AI tools for 3D asset management and production, contributing to the development and maintenance of an AI-driven asset pipeline.
Requirements

DCC Tools: Professional proficiency in ZBrush, Blender/Maya, and Substance Painter.

UE5 Workflow: Solid experience with Unreal Engine 5 art workflows, with a deep understanding of the Material Editor and engine-side optimization.

Modeling Foundations: Strong foundation in anatomy and hard-surface modeling, capable of creating realistic characters and mechanically sound assets.

PBR Mastery: Mastery of PBR workflows with the ability to replicate diverse material textures, including skin, fabric, and metals.

Portfolio: A portfolio demonstrating high-quality craftsmanship and successful asset implementation within a real-time engine.
Bonus Points
• Experience in using AI for assisted asset creation and a proven track record of exploring or building AI-driven production pipelines.
• Background in developing FPS or Extraction Shooter titles.
• Experience in game development targeting overseas markets.
• Involvement in a Steam project through the full lifecycle, from Early Access to full release.
